Press Release: Republican Greg Reed Receives Endorsement of Police Benevolent Association
Greg Reed, Republican nominee for the Alabama Senate in District 5, received the endorsement of the Alabama Police Benevolent Association, Inc. Mr. Reed was informed of the endorsement in a letter dated October 7, 2010, from Alabama Division President Donald R. Scott.
Mr. Scott wrote, “We will ask our members, their friends and families and all citizens who respect the strong and efficient enforcement of our laws to cast their ballots in the upcoming election in your favor.”
“I am very pleased to receive the support of a law enforcement group as respected as the Alabama Police Benevolent Association. As a state senator, I will be a tireless advocate for the needs of the public safety community because security is a concern to all of us,” Mr. Reed said.
Adam Hadder, Walker County PBA President, said Greg Reed was the best choice for the Senate. “When we interviewed Greg Reed, we felt confident he will provide an open door to the law enforcement community when he represents us in Montgomery. On top of that, he listened to the concerns we have about adequate funding for new equipment and technology as well as getting crucial legislation passed,” Mr. Hadder said.
Senate District 5 is comprised of all of Walker and parts of Tuscaloosa, Winston and Jefferson Counties.
Greg and his wife, the former Mitsy Harbison, are natives of Cordova, Alabama. They have been married for 22 years and have three sons. Their sons Andrew and James are 16-year-old twins, and John Michael is 14 years old. The Reed boys attend Jasper City Schools in the 10th and 8th grades. Mr. Reed has worked in the medical equipment industry since 1991. He has been for the past six years Vice President of Preferred Medical Systems. Preferred Medical is a representative of diagnostic medical ultrasound systems in six states for General Electric Healthcare.
