Greg Reed Receives Endorsement Of The Tuscaloosa News
The Tuscaloosa News today endorsed Greg Reed for the Republican nomination for Alabama State Senate District 5. In analyzing Reed's conservative credentials and plan for the 5th District The News agreed with the majority of voters in the district that Greg Reed is the best choice to fill the seat being vacated by Senator Charles Bishop who is running for a term in the State House of Representatives.
Upon learning of the endorsement Reed said:
This endorsement is evidence of the fact that I am the only Republican candidate in this race that has a plan to bring jobs back to our area, improve our schools and bring ethics reform to Montgomery. My message of electing a true representative and not a politician has resonated with the folks across our district and I am honored to receive The Tuscaloosa News' endorsement.
In announcing the endorsement, the editors of the paper wrote:
We have been encouraged by the quality of those willing to offer themselves for public service and choosing between some of them for our endorsement was difficult. But the choices in all five Republican and Democratic primaries are: Greg Reed in the Republican primary in Senate District 5. A Jasper businessman, Reed is impressive in his knowledge of the challenges ahead.
